Here’s one of my favorite memories…
Having time to reflect is the result of doing. We climbed this mountain on the Appalachian Trail a few years ago and were able to enjoy the view and spend time reflecting on the journey (7.8 miles up & back)! We then went on to a 3-day retreat at a lodge along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s a wonderful place to live, however, making time to enjoy it is essential.
My wife and I both have very active careers and full schedules, so we must put dates on our calendars for these mini sabbath retreats. Taking time off empowers our work, our health, and our marriage.
I’m writing this post on New Year’s Eve 2014 and reflecting on the past year of great times of celebration and a life worth living.
I’m committed to planning more to do and more to not do in 2015.
How about you?
